Sawley Abbey Lancashire antique print. Original copper-plate engraving of Sawley Abbey, an abbey of Cistercian monks in the village of Sawley, Lancashire. (Here described as ‘Salley Abby’ and historically in the West Riding of Yorkshire.) From ‘The Antiquities of England and Wales’ by Francis Grose, dated in the plate Jan. 7th. 1787. A scarce print in very nice condition. Note: Shadowing does not appear on the original print.
