Kirkstall Abbey, a ruined Cistercian monastery in Kirkstall north-west of Leeds city centre in West Yorkshire, England. It is set in a public park on the north bank of the River Aire. It was founded c.1152 and disestablished during the Dissolution of the Monasteries under the auspices of Henry VIII. Original copper-plate engraved print from ‘The Antiquities of England and Wales’ by Francis Grose, dated in the plate 4th. May 1785. Paper size approx. 11 x 7.5 inches. Excellent condition. A rare item.
