Allerton Mauleverer Priory antique print. Antique copper-plate engraved antique print of Allerton Mauleverer Priory (St Martin’s Monastery,) a medieval monastic house in North Yorkshire, England. Richard Mauleverer founded St Martin’s Priory c. 1100 in the Benedictine order and granted them tithes and lands. The site was granted to the Abbey of Marmoutier in Normandy in 1110 which made it an alien priory.  Original copper-plate engraved print from ‘The Antiquities of England and Wales’ by Francis Grose, dated in the plate 13th. May 1785. Paper size approx. 11 x 7.5 inches. Excellent condition. A rare item.
