Joseph Samuda antique print entitled ‘Iron Shipbuilding’ from Vanity Fair which was published in 1873. Samuda Brothers' shipbuilding yard, in Cubitt Town, Isle of Dogs, supplied the Royal Navy with warships constructed from iron and was a major employer on 'the Island.' In 1868 he was returned as the Liberal Member of Parliament for the east London constituency of Tower Hamlets, which he represented until 1880. Paper measures approx. 14.00 x 9.25 inches.
