Waverley Abbey Surrey antique print 1785

Waverley Abbey was the first Cistercian abbey in England. Founded in 1128 by William Giffard, Bishop of Winchester, it is located in Farnham, Surrey.

Original copper-plate engraved antique print from ‘The Antiquities of England and Wales’ by Francis Grose, dated in the plate 27th. May, 1785. Paper size approx. 10.75 x 8 inches. Engraved area approx. 6 x 5 inches. Note: Shadow does NOT appear on original. A rare item in excellent condition.
