Canterbury City arched walls across the River Stour in Kent antique print. First built by the Romans, the city walls were maintained by the Saxons for defence against Vikings and later by the Normans. Original copper-plate engraved print from ‘The Antiquities of England and Wales’ by Francis Grose, dated in the plate 21st. May 1784. Paper size approx. 11 x 7.5 inches. Excellent condition. A rare item.
