Fleet Prison Farringdon Street. Antique steel engraving with later hand-colouring of Farringdon Street and the Fleet Prison, City of London. Dated 1830. Built on the banks of the Fleet River, Blackfriars, Fleet Prison was primarily used to hold debtors and bankrupts. Print supplied mounted to 10×8 inches (ready to frame) in conservation quality ‘antique white’ mount-board. A nice example of a Thomas Shepherd image. Engraved area approx. 6×4 inches. A nice ready-to-frame antique gift.
