Bamburgh Castle, or Bamborough Castle, is on the coast at Bamburgh, Northumberland, England. Although the site of both ancient Briton and Anglo-Saxon fortifications, the Normans built a castle on the site, which forms the core of the present one. This copper-plate engraving of Bamburgh Castle is dated in the plate 1 Jan 1785. Size of engraved area approx. 5x6ins. A scarce Georgian copper-plate engraving.
