Antique print of Hampton Court Palace, Middlesex, a royal palace in, Greater London, England, upstream of central London on the River Thames. Redevelopment began to be carried out in 1515 for Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, a favourite of King Henry VIII. In 1529, as Wolsey fell from favour, the King seized the palace for himself and later enlarged it. Original copper-plate engraved print from ‘The Antiquities of England and Wales’ by Francis Grose, dated in the plate 22 October 1784. Paper size approx. 11 x 7.5 inches. Excellent condition.
