Tower Bridge original invitation to the official opening by the Prince of Wales

Tower Bridge. Original invitation from the Lord Mayor to the official opening of the bridge on 30th June in 1894 addressed to Sir S. C. B. Ponsonby Fane, K.C.B. The bridge was opened by The Prince of Wales on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen (Victoria.) This bridge over the River Thames was designed by Sir Horace Jones and engineered by Sir John Wolfe Barry. Some water damage to the edge of the card which measures approx. 12 x 8.75 inches. A rare item.
