Gateshead Monastery Durham antique print 1784

Gateshead Monastery antique print, also known as Goatshead Monastery, was once the dwelling place of Utta, the illustrious abbot of the Monastery of Gateshead. This Monastery was in existence until the dissolution of the monasteries.

Original copper-plate engraved print from ‘The Antiquities of England and Wales’ by Francis Grose, dated in the plate 1784. Paper size approx. 11 x 7.5 inches. A rare item in excellent condition. Note: shadows DO NOT appear on the original.
