Beeston Castle. Antique print of Beeston Castle, a former Royal castle in Beeston, Cheshire, England, perched on a rocky sandstone crag 350 feet above the Cheshire Plain. It was built in the 1220s by Ranulf de Blondeville, 6th Earl of Chester, (1170–1232), on his return from the Crusades. Antique copper-plate engraving dated in the plate Feb 12; 1784. from ‘The Antiquities of England and Wales’ by Francis Grose, Size of engraved area approx. 5 x 6 inches. Paper approx. 10.75 x 8 inches. A nice example of a genuine scarce Georgian antique print.
