Wolvesey Castle, also known as the “Old Bishop’s Palace”, is a ruined castle in Winchester, Hampshire, England. It is located next to Winchester Cathedral. Wolvesey Castle was erected by the Bishop of Winchester Henry of Blois, between 1130 and 1136 on an eyot between two branches of the River Itchen. 

Original copper-plate engraved print from ‘The Antiquities of England and Wales’ by Francis Grose, dated in the plate 20th. August, 1783. Paper size approx. 10.75 x 8 inches. Note: The shadow does not appear on the original. A rare item in nice condition.
