Odiham Castle aka Odiam Castle, Hampshire. It is one of only three fortresses built by King John during his reign. The site was possibly chosen by King John because he had visited the area in 1204 and it lay halfway between Windsor and Winchester.
Original copper-plate engraved antique print from ‘The Antiquities of England and Wales’ by Francis Grose, dated in the plate 27th. June, 1784. Size of engraved area approx. 5x6ins. Paper size approx. 11 x 7.5 inches. Excellent condition. A rare item.
